Enjoy a beautiful spring evening while doing a little good for the world at our Princeton Happy Hour on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. Schmooze and meet new friends at Winberie’s, located at 1 Palmer Square AND help the folks at the Trenton Soup Kitchen by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate.

Winberie’s offers a full wine list, craft beers and a delicious menu.

Hikes and Rowboats

Spend a day hiking and boating at the most popular park in Monmouth County. More than one million visitors come to the Manasquan Reservoir each year and here’s your chance to check it out with Jersey Tribe on Sunday, June 9 at 10 a.m. The 5.1 mile hike offers panoramic views of the reservoir and is ranked moderate because of its length, but offers an even, well-maintained surface that is accessible for hikers of various experience. After the hike and a quick lunch, you will have the option to rent a boat and go out on the reservoir.

Hikers should be in good physical condition and capable of walking for 3 hours. Sasha our hike leader will make sure we start on time at 10 a.m. If you have any questions, she can be reached at sasha.goldfarb2@gmail.com or 201-486-8825. We will have a sweeper for this hike to keep the group together.

Heavy precipitation will cancel; drizzle will not. Check your email for updates on the morning of the hike.

What to bring:
Water (2 liters required), hike leader will check that you have water before we start!
Hiking boots and/or comfortable sneakers/closed toe shoes
Bug spray (recommended)
Sunscreen

Boating Info
At the Visitor Center, you can rent rowboats (1-hr $12.15 or 4-hrs $34.35); electric motor powered rowboats (4-hrs $44.86); and kayaks (1-hr single person $14.02 or 1-hr double person $20.09). Cash or personal checks only; credit cards not accepted. A $10.00 deposit is required for 1 hour rental; $20.00 deposit required for 4 hour rental. (Prices do not include sales tax.)
Operation of an electric motorboat requires a NJ boating safety certificate.

Our super popular Rock On Shabbat and Party with Congregation B’nai Keshet is BACK on Friday, June 7th at 8:00 pm. Everyone is invited as we welcome and celebrate Shabbat with live music, wine, beer and snacks at Bnai Keshet, located at 99 S. Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. A brief concert will follow the service.

A Very Jersey Purim

Perhaps the most fun example of the “They tried to kill us, we won, let’s eat” genre of Jewish holidays, Purim comes complete with costumes, noise makers and adorable triangular-shaped cookies. Part Carnival, part Holi, part St. Patrick’s Day with a little bit of Halloween thrown in, Purim is all about the party.

Join Jersey Tribe for a traditional reading of the megillah (scroll) at Congregation Beth El in South Orange on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. We’ll supply the graggers (noise makers), hamentashen (cookies) and Purim spirits, you bring the costume and $5 or a non-perishable food item to be donated… it’s a Purim tradition to donate gifts to the poor.

Away Game Watch Party

Whether you’re Gang Green or Big Blue, both teams are away on Sunday, November 7 so let’s watch together at Shannon Rose in Clifton. The Jets face off against the Lions in Detroit at 1 p.m. and the Giants take on the Seahawks in Seattle at 4 p.m.

Come for one game or both, and please bring a non-perishable (non-pork/shellfish) food item to donate to Kosher Food Pantry in South Orange during the Thanksgiving season.
